Description

SPICY WITH A FLESHY STEM AND A NUTTY UNDERTONE.

Our Watercress is a dark leafy green, that originally grows in natural spring water. However with the latest vertical farming techniques, we have managed to grow the green indoors using LED lights and recycled water. Historically, people have used watercress in many ways more than garnishment. As a matter of fact, watercress is one of the oldest known leaf vegetables consumed by humans. It may have been a staple in the Roman soldiers’ diet. The leafy green is part of the cruciferous family -alongside kale, broccoli, and salad rocket – a family known to be packed with dense nutrients that are extremely beneficial for the heart, blood pressure, and maintaining healthy bones.

The relatives of Watercress, such as mustard, radish, and wasabi, all resemble this microgreen in its spicyness. Likewise, its botanical name – Nasturtium officinale – indicates it relationship to our Nasturtium, which is the closest resemblance in taste of the beautiful Watercress.
